When "Mother Nature" makes a weather correction, boy does she do it big time! Believe our drought is over. In fact I'm ready for it to stop raining. Already seeing problems with fruit splitting and fungal growth.
 Blackberry and blueberry season are over. The rains have been great for the Heritage red raspberries fall crop. Picking is improving every day. You pick $7.00/quart. We pick $9.00/quart.
We are now picking lots of bunch grapes - Fredonia (concord type), Mars seedless, Niagara, and Delaware (sugar is 22 to 24%, perfect for making wine). They need to be picked in next few days. Will start filling Concord orders in about a week.
We are picking Asian pears. The crop and fruit size is small. Lost much of it to the hail storm. Will have available for next 3 to 4 weeks.
Will have peaches for another 3 to 4 weeks. Four varieties to go - Encore, Flameprince, Parade and Fairtime.
Now boiling Green Virginia White Jumbo peanuts most every day. Quality is excellent!!
 Have a large apple crop, even with the hail damage. Now picking Ginger Gold, Paulared, Gala, McIntosh, Cortland, Red Winesap, Ozark Gold and Honeycrisp.
Made first production of apple sauce Tuesday and will make first cider on Friday.
Need your help. With our large apple crop, have immediate and urgent need for people to pick, sort and box apples. If you know of someone who needs work or would like to make some extra money, please tell them to come see me at the farm retail market. Thanks in advance for your help on this.
We will be closed Labor Day.
